Clare Dutton is a PADI Course Director and the Director of Duttons Divers and Vivian Dive Centre. Clare founded Duttons Divers at just 19 years old, and at the age of 25, she was one of the youngest in the world to be accepted onto the PADI Course Director programme. Her time out of the water is just as meritorious, working as a Fire Officer for Lancashire Fire Service, where she specialises in water rescues.
Her work in the industry has included promoting the North Wales dive sites both from the shore and at sea, where her dive centre Vivian Quarry in Llanberis, and dive boat ‘Little Viv’ are based. Clare has worked hard to put North Wales on the map for UK diving, highlighting now well-known dive sites such as the Menai and Puffin Island, making appearances on ITV North Wales and other programmes to showcase such sites. Other contributions to the industry include establishing ‘Scuba Pride’ to support LGBT groups, and actively using her role as a PADI Course Director to create an all-inclusive dive environment.
