03 Feb Work in the dive industry? You need to attend the GO Diving Show Trade Day!
Calling all members of the dive industry! A packed schedule awaits at the GO Diving Show Trade Day on Friday 21 February. Supported by the Scuba Industries Trade Association (SITA), it is only open to those working within the diving industry or special invite-only guests – the GO Diving Show Trade Day should be on your ‘must-visit’ list for 2020!
The main exhibition hall will be open from 12noon to 6pm, giving you chance to chat business-to-business with training agencies, manufacturers, retailers, specialist tour operators, resorts, dive centres and liveaboards, plus you can also have a go on our awesome interactive exhibits, The Cave and The Wall!
Many of the exhibitors will be hosting a drinks reception on their booths from 4pm-6pm, for further networking in a more-social environment.
We are flying diving industry expert Tec Clark in from the USA to be our Keynote Speaker on the trade day.
Tec Clark has held elite positions in the industry, including Managing Director of the University of Florida’s Academic Diving Programme and National Director of the YMCA Scuba Programme, and his acclaimed ScubaGuru brand is dedicated to giving dive pros the tools and techniques they need to be great leaders.
Tec Clark holds over 40 professional certifications with over 15 diving agencies, and has received numerous honours for his instructional abilities. He has co-edited several diving texts, and has appeared as a diving expert on A&E, The Learning Channel, and Outdoor Life Network. He is currently the Associate Director for Aquatics and Scuba Diving at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Tec is the host of ScubaGuru, the Dive Locker podcast, the League of Extraordinary Divers Podcast, and the Beyond the Standard Vlog.
Tec will be presenting on the Main Stage throughout the Trade Day:
1pm – Profiting from value, not bargain prices – Tec Clark talks about value selling, and showing how selling on value is a more-sustainable and profitable business strategy.
3pm – Lead the culture of excellence – Tec Clark asks what it takes to truly shape and lead a culture in your diving business. This presentation has a hand’s-on component to set core values, and then learn how to implement those values and shape a workplace culture.
5pm – In-service rescue training for professionals – Tec Clark believes that in-service rescue training is vitally important for dive professionals. This presentation goes over all the reasons, and the ways, to conduct professional-level rescue training for dive centre staff, dive boat staff, independent instructors, etc.
The Diver Medic
From 2pm – 3.30pm, in association with The Diver Medic, DAN Europe and Suunto, Chantelle Newman will be taking to The Tech Stage to provide an ‘Assessment for Diving Medical Fitness and Wellbeing’.
As an instructor, or dive leader, you are the first point of call to form an opinion as to the general health and wellbeing of your prospective or certified diver to dive. This talk is to help alert you to the RED FLAGS of novice to experienced divers who may not be fit to dive, as well as giving you help by way of evaluating a completed medical questionnaire.
The Mission 2020 project launched to great acclaim, and from 4.30pm – 4.45pm, Fourth Element’s Jim Standing will be bringing everyone up to speed on the project and urging more companies within the diving industry to change their relationship with single-use plastics and look for more environmentally friendly alternatives.
PADI, SSI and RAID will be running a series of seminars and presentations in the Vodaphone Lounge and The Director’s Lounge, which are just across the atrium from the main exhibition hall, from 9am, and many of the exhibitors will be hosting a drinks reception on their booths from 4pm-6pm.
